“I’m one of the first contacts people have when they're in crisis or in need. These kids need someone to be an advocate for them and to be available for them. I also have a lot of parent friends and my kids' friends [who] will call me or text me whatever they need, and I will help them walk through the same situations. There's such a need. I just try to be available. My kids have grown up with this, so they're advocates themselves. They've gone through some things and they're willing to talk about that. It’s the same to them as if they had the flu. Your mental health and your physical health are all the same and sometimes one affects the other. And so they're very open with that and with their peers. Kids are growing up in a different world. As connected as everyone is through their phones and social media, [teens] are very disconnected. It’s hard for them to learn how to connect and show emotions. And these kids also have an enormous amount of pressure that we didn't have. What's making a difference for these kids is for it to become more normalized: 'It's okay to be depressed, it's okay to have anxiety.' The community is beginning to address what these kids are going through, and I think all these initiatives will [foster] awareness of what is going on and take that stigma away from mental health. Community efforts are making a difference. I'm just popping in to remind you that It's OK if all you did today was shower, have a snack, get out of bed or simply just breathe. I've just come out of the midst of a hyper-manic episode and I haven't really left my bed, eaten or showered for the past 2 days, all I've done is sleep but today I've finally mustered up the energy to get out of bed, put some clothes on and go to the shop to find something quick and easy to eat aka a smoothie and some McCoy's crisps, it probably seems like nothing to some but it's taken me the entire day to put on some clothes and walk to the shop. You see sooooo much shit on social media telling you to use this time to exercise, make art, meditate, write a book, learn a new skill, start yoga, go on a diet ETC. But listen here ; GUYS WE ARE IN THE MIDST OF A GLOBAL FUCKING PANDEMIC and the only thing that matters right now is surviving and if that means eating microwave meals, using dry shampoo instead of washing your hair, staying in your pj's all day, lying in bed for days, watching netflix and eating a family-size pack of Doritos then that's OK and it's OK if thats the best you can do right now. It's so easy to stay focused on the problems in our lives... BUT! We waste SO many precious mental and emotional resources on that! Not only that, but by staying focused on what we don't want, we WIRE it into our brains, making it our default, and making us MORE likely to see and engage it. The solution? Become solution-oriented! (See what I did there?) Shift your focus to the good you can create. Focus on the positive. Listening, thinking about, and talking about (which then only magnifies it by 10 TIMES!) only perpetuates it. Stop watching and listening to others talk about what's wrong, and wire yourselves to put your time, attention, energy, resources, and creativity into creating the changes YOU want to see. Nie jest idealnie, wiem to, ale również mojemu żołądkowi nie jest łatwo. Nie byłabym w stanie fizycznie ani psychicznie już dziś zmieścić. Najważniejsze, że mój koń jest do wyleczenia. Bardzo mnie to cieszy. Dzięki tej informacji łatwiej mi walczyć. 🇬🇧 Breakfast: Wholegrain bun with protein creme and 100% strawberry jam, cooked apple II breakfast: Apple Dinner: Omelette made with 1 🥚, cucumber with skyr, potato Supper: Coffee dessert (I ate aprox. a half) First day of trying my best. I know it is not perfect but my stomach isn't also in a good condition. I have had fantastic Information today. My horse can be cured and thats great.
